clinical supervision

My approach

Supervision needs to be reflective of your personal goals for yourself as a clinician, and will be consistent with how you conceptualize client issues theoretically. Supervision should be empowering, challenging, supportive, and thought provoking.

Theoretical framework for supervision

Clinically my supervision reflects person-centered, trauma focused, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, attachment-based, Motivational Interviewing and humanistic models, with concepts of social justice, empowerment, and equal access to all societal members. As your supervisor, I will encourage you to consider your thoughts, your behaviors and your feelings as you conduct clinical sessions and interact with your clients.

My areas of expertise:

-Mental health (both general and severe psychological concerns)

-Trauma (PTSD, complex trauma, childhood abuse, intimate partner abuse, etc.)

-Family dynamics, relationships, and parenting

-Anxiety (ranging from GAD to adjusting to life circumstances)

-Individual, family, and group therapy

My supervisory experience

My supervisory experience ranges from providing individual and group supervision to Master's level and fully licensed outpatient mental health clinicians, to having supervised graduate level psychology, counseling, and creative arts in therapy interns. Internship supervision included both onsite and off-site supervision for students practicing in psychiatric inpatient, community mental health, psychiatric community homes, and medical settings. I have also received 45 hours of clinical supervision training, and obtained by ACS (approved clinical supervisor) certification.

Client experience

In my professional path, my direct client experience includes work with adolescents and adults in an inpatient psychiatric hospital; children and families in an impoverished urban community; children and adolescents in psychiatric community homes with a wide range of mental health diagnoses; youth, families, and adults in a community mental health outpatient setting; and in my private practice I work with clients experiencing anxiety, residual effects of trauma, survivors of (and those currently experiencing) intimate partner abuse, and struggles with past and current family dynamics.

Schedule and fee

I offer a flexible schedule for weekly or bi-weekly supervision sessions.

Each 50 minute supervision session will be $120.
